Cholla Cactus

30x30" Mixed media, acrylic, leather, and synthetic leather. Gallery wrapped on 1.5" thick stretcher bars.
 
I had never seen this type of cactus before, but they are very common in this area. They started blooming in June and it inspired me to do my version. I was not sure how it was turning out until I finished, I like this part of New Mexico.
